Karoline Leavitt is under criticism for making a “disgusting” insult about Joe Biden
Karoline Leavitt, once a small-town ice cream scooper, now stands as the youngest press secretary in U.S. history and a prominent Gen Z conservative voice. Formerly aspiring to be a journalist, she now fiercely critiques the media—and her recent jab at President Joe Biden has set off a storm online.
During Biden’s speech on Social Security at a disability advocacy conference in Chicago, Leavitt responded with a cutting remark: “I’m surprised he’s speaking at night—I assumed his bedtime was much sooner.” The quip, aimed at Biden’s age, quickly went viral, prompting backlash across Instagram and Facebook.
While she later praised Trump’s commitment to Social Security, many found her tone disrespectful. “So rude and childish,” one commenter wrote. Others pointed to her own relationship—her husband is 32 years older—as ironic.
Even her supporters expressed disappointment, calling for more professionalism: “You crossed the line,” said one follower.
Biden, in contrast, emphasized bipartisan unity and protecting Social Security from cuts, criticizing Trump-era policies and Elon Musk’s controversial views.
As Biden re-emerges in public debate, Leavitt’s comment continues to trend—highlighting the razor-thin line between bold rhetoric and perceived disrespect in today’s political climate.
Did she go too far, or was she just saying what others think?
